Trial 6 - 00/00/20xx, 00:00
Subject: D-14253
Test Notes: D-14253 was scanned without incident. SCP-XXXX hummed for 8s before projecting SCP-XXXX-1. D-14253 and SCP-XXXX-1 exchanged some lines of confusion before moving on to idle chatter. After approximately 3 minutes, D-14253 leaned in toward SCP-XXXX-1 as it whispered something to D-14253. Supervising personnel attempted to intervene but was advised to hold off until if the situation escalated. After approximately 30s, D-14253 was informed to move away from SCP-XXXX-1 and to avoid any further conversation unintelligible to researchers. D-14253 obliged and continued idle conversation with SCP-XXXX-1. Nothing else of significance was exchanged. After 10 minutes, D-14253 was escorted out of the testing chamber. Dr. ████████ entered and approached SCP-XXXX-1 to attempt an interview. However, upon seeing Dr. ████████ SCP-XXXX-1 was heard uttering "Oh nah fuck you guys" before disappearing as SCP-XXXX shut down.
Incident Log - ██/██/████, ██:██**
D-14253 attempted an escape from Site ██. D-14253 seemed to demonstrate in depth knowledge of various routines around the site, using predicted positions of various personnel to his advantage. SCP-████ also suffered a containment breach during this timeframe, thought to have been released by D-14253 as a distraction. The containment breach resulted in █ casualties and █ injured personnel before SCP-████ was recontained. D-14253 was eventually caught and terminated. Investigation is currently underway to determine how D-14253 was able to release SCP-████.
Trial 9 - 00/00/20xx, 00:00
Subject: Various animals including rodents, reptiles, rabbits, farm animals, and primates.
Test Notes: SCP-XXXX scanned each subject and hummed for several seconds before letting out two short beeps, failing to produce SCP-XXXX-1. Only one trial with a Macaca mulatta (rhesus monkey) was successful. SCP-XXXX hummed for 1m32s before projecting SCP-XXXX-1. SCP-XXXX-1 proceeded to wander aimlessly for 39s before disappearing as SCP-XXXX shut down. Attempts to reproduce this result have been unsuccessful.
Trial 10 - 00/00/20xx, 00:00
Subject: Dr. █████ ████████ agreed to be the first non-Class D test after noting no harm was done on all previous subjects.
Test Notes: Dr. ████████ was scanned without incident. SCP-XXXX hummed for 18s before projecting SCP-XXXX-1. Dr. ████████ then proceeded to interview SCP-XXXX-1.Interview Log (Excerpt, 0:12 - 4:14)
Dr. ████████: If you don't mind I'd like to ask you a few questions.
SCP-XXXX-1: Of course. I can get the basics out of the way first, if you'd like?
Dr. ████████: The basics?
SCP-XXXX-1: Yes, the basic information about myself and the nature of SCP-XXXX.
Dr. ████████: Oh, um, yes, if you don't mind.
SCP-XXXX-1: Not at all. First off, I am indeed well aware I'm a projection from SCP-XXXX. I do not feel any discomfort with this knowledge, to me it's just as natural as accepting the fact I'll die one day. And I made peace with that a long time ago, especially after deciding to work at the Foundation. I'm sure you know.
Dr. ████████: Um... yes, of course.
SCP-XXXX-1: [SCP-XXXX-1 smiles slightly, relaxing its posture.] I know this is weird, Doctor, it's pretty weird for me too. I can't even bring myself to address you with your name since it's, um, well, it's my name. And it's just extra weird to talk to another entity that's quite literally me.
Dr. ████████: [Dr. ████████ lets out a small chuckle.] Yeah, extra weird. [Dr. ████████ sighs and writes something in her notes.] So, um, are you an alternate version of me? From another dimension, or something similar? How does SCP-XXXX work exactly?
SCP-XXXX-1: Um no, not quite. [SCP-XXXX-1 pauses for a moment, as if thinking deeply.] ... I'm not sure exactly. I mean, I know on a fundamental level, but I don't know if there's a way to explain it to you. It's a bit like describing what red looks like to the blind. Oh, but I'm not from some alternate dimension being projected here, you can make note of that. This-- [SCP-XXXX-1 gestures vaguely around itself] --is me. Quite literally.
Dr. ████████: Interesting, alright... got it.
SCP-XXXX-1: Actually, if it's not too much of a bother, could I ask you something?
Dr. ████████: Hm?
SCP-XXXX-1: About [REDACTED].
Dr. ████████: [Dr. ████████ looks surprised.] Um, yes. I've been working on that recently.
SCP-XXXX-1: [SCP-XXXX-1 nods.] It was on my mind when I came in here. Another thing you should probably note, my memory recall is a lot better than yours. Remembering inordinate amounts of detail from my life is quite easy. It's like an eidetic memory, except more extreme.
Dr. ████████: Is that so? That's also interesting. [Dr. ████████ pauses for a moment, writing something down in her notes.]
SCP-XXXX-1: It's interesting to me that you have the ability to forget. Doesn't that bother you at all? What exactly is that like? How is it you can know you can't remember something, but not remember the 'something'?
Dr. ████████: [Dr. ████████ pauses for a moment, as if thinking deeply.] ... Well, hm. I don't know if theres'a way to explain it to you. Its a bit like-- [Dr. ████████ pauses before laughing.]] --Well it's a bit like describing what red looks like to the blind.
SCP-XXXX-1: [SCP-XXXX-1 laughs.] Yes, yes I guess it is. But ah, um, about [REDACTED]? I have a feeling I could help with it, if you don't mind discussing it now.
Dr. ████████: Oh. Well I... [Dr. ████████ smiles.] Sure, actually. I'd love to collaborate.
Dr. ████████ and SCP-XXXX-1 proceeded to discuss [REDACTED] for the next 26 minutes before seeming to reach some breakthrough discovery . Dr. ████████ excitedly jotted down some notes before thanking SCP-XXXX-1 and taking leave. Dr. ████████ and SCP-XXXX-1 exchanged departing pleasantries before SCP-XXXX-1 disappeared as SCP-XXXX shut down. Dr. ████████ has expressed a desire to interact with SCP-XXXX-1 again.
Trial 14 - 00/00/20xx, 00:00
Subject: Class C Personnel █████ ███ volunteered as a test subject after Dr. ████████ expressed concern with further Class D personnel testing.
Test Notes: Ms. ███ was scanned without incident. SCP-XXXX hummed for 12s before projecting SCP-XXXX-1. Ms. ███ and SCP-XXXX-1 both reacted initially wary of the other before slowly warming up to each other. They conversed for approximately 5 minutes over various topics, including their hobby of sewing and japanese animated cartoons. After this time, Dr. ████████ entered the testing chamber and Ms. ███ was asked to move to a neighbouring unit. Dr. ████████ then interviewed SCP-XXXX-1. SCP-XXXX-1 was co-operative during questioning. Dr. ████████ finished the interview by thanking SCP-XXXX-1 for its time, after which SCP-XXXX-1 expressed acknowledgement of the nicety before disappearing as SCP-XXXX shut down.
Ms. ███ was kept in the neighbouring test unit, remaining ignorant of the interview proceedings. After SCP-XXXX shut down, Dr. ████████ entered the chamber holding Ms. ███ and conducted the same interview with her. Summarized results are below.
QUESTION ASKED TEST SUBJECT XXXX-XX RESPONSE SCP-XXXX-1 RESPONSE What is your full name? Correct name was given. Correct name was given. When is your birthday? Correct date was given. Correct date was given. What did you have for breakfast this morning? Peanut butter oatmeal, a banana, and a glass of milk. Peanut butter oatmeal, a banana, and a glass of milk. Where did you live when you were 10? █████ City, Ontario, Canada. ████ ██████ Street in █████ City, Ontario, Canada. What is your favourite TV show? Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. Where were you at 13:26 today? Had finished lunch later than usual, was rushing to her position in Sector 12. Had finished lunch later than usual, was rushing and was approximately halfway down the leftwing hallway to Sector 12 "if I'm measuring the passage of time correctly, since the last time I checked the time it was 13:22." Named numerous people she passed along the way. What does the protein p53 do in the human body? Did not know. Did not know "exactly", but remembered it being referred to as the "tumour protein" and responsible for preventing cancer formation. Stated she learned this from her high school biology teacher who shared the information as a "fun fact for the class." Where were you on November 21, 2014, at 14:16? Did not know. In her dorm room at university. Didn't know exactly what she was doing at that time since she "wasn't checking the time religiously" but she had entered her room at 13:48 after returning from her linguistics class. She had sat down at her desk to begin working on an assignment immediately as she had "procrastinated like all hell, so at 14:16 I was probably still working on my NLP assignment." Y a-t-il un repas spécifique que vous voudriez pour le souper ce soir? Did not understand the question. "Soir is evening I think?" Did not understand the question. What is 62 multiplied by 24? Asked for a pen and paper. Once provided, proceeded to provide the correct answer of 1536 after about a minute spent writing out the calculation. Provided the correct answer of 1536 almost immediately. Chipperly added what a "funny coincidence" it was that that exact calculation was part of a worksheet she did for math class in grade 5. After Trial 14 ended without incident, Ms. ███ was determined an ideal test subject for SCP-XXXX and recruited for several additional studies.
She has proven to be one of the most reliable candidates for experiments with SCP-XXXX.Addendum ██/██/████: After Trial 27 Ms. ███ can no longer be used for research with SCP-XXXX. During said trial, SCP-XXXX-1 started mumbling to itself in the middle of an interview, seeming to lose awareness of its surroundings. Mumbles were predominantly incoherent but seemed to contain the words "organs" and "table" multiple times. After several minutes of this, with attempts by Dr. ████████ to intervene remaining ineffective, SCP-XXXX-1 returned to a moment of lucidity and looked toward Dr. ████████, asking her about the material of the table she was sitting at with a markedly strained voice. Before Dr. ████████ was able to respond, SCP-XXXX-1 began to repeat the word "no" at an increasing volume before disappearing as SCP-XXXX shut down. Ms. ███, sitting in the neighbouring testing chamber, remained unchanged. When she was brought back and rescanned, SCP-XXXX immediately beeped twice and refused to project SCP-XXXX-1. Several more attempts were made with the same result. Ms. ███ was temporarily quarantined and subject to psychiatric evaluation but was released with no anomalies found.
Trial 16 - xx/xx/20xx, approximately xx:xx
Subject: Class C Personnel Hubert ███████.
Test Notes: Mr. ███████ was accidentally scanned by SCP-XXXX during routine cleaning of the High Value Anomalous Item Storage Locker. The previous researcher using SCP-XXXX had forgotten to reaffix the cover over the scanner and has faced disciplinary action. Mr. ███████ was found at xx:xx crying on the floor next to SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX-1 was not present but inferred to have just shut down from Mr. ███████'s statement.Incident Log - Statement by Hubert ███████
"He helped me remember... i-it's been years, since she passed. I... I lost... all the pictures I had, the house... i-it was caught in a fire... I remember her face again. I-... I can't believe I remember her face again... it's been so long I-I... I'm sorry, I'm doing a bad job a-at explaining what happened..."
Trial 22 - ██/██/████, ██:██
Subject: Agent ████ ██████ requested SCP-XXXX access for help with writing a debriefing report for a mission he had went on three weeks ago. "Miniscule details and extreme accuracy" were of increased importance for the case. Request was approved.
Test Notes: Agent ██████ was scanned without incident. SCP-XXXX hummed for 26s before projecting SCP-XXXX-1. Agent ██████ and SCP-XXXX-1 then proceeded to have a civil conversation about his work with the Foundation for approximately 2 minutes. At this point, SCP-XXXX-1 referenced Agent ██████'s work with SCP-████. Agent ██████ denied working on any such mission, responding with marked confusion. SCP-XXXX-1, seeming to have realized something, quickly attempted to rescind its statements. Agent ██████ continued to press SCP-XXXX-1, visibly becoming more agitated as SCP-XXXX-1 repeatedly refused to dispense additional information.
Interview Log (Excerpt, 2:34 - 6:02)
Agent ██████: I need you to tell me, right now, what did I do with SCP-████?
SCP-XXXX-1: I can't.
Agent ██████: Why can't you?
SCP-XXXX-1: I... can't tell you that either.
Agent ██████: Fucking-- [Agent ██████ exasperatedly gestures for a moment, before turning back towards SCP-XXXX-1] --FUCK WHY NOT?
SCP-XXXX-1: ████, please calm down.
Agent ██████: Don't fucking call me █████, you can't just say I fucking worked with ████ and then pretend like you didn't.
SCP-XXXX-1: Agent ██████, please--
Agent ██████: Do you know the shit that goes around about that thing? It fucking [REDACTED], and we fucking [REDACTED]. You're telling me I fucking [REDACTED] and didn't fucking kill myself?
SCP-XXXX-1: I-- You chose to take an amnestic. Willingly. Li--
Agent ██████: Like fucking hell I di--
SCP-XXXX-1: LISTEN. Please. I'm sorry, I fucked up. I knew you didn't know, I wasn't thinking. But I can't. Tell. You. I would shove a barrel down my throat right now if I could over this shit. But I need you to think. Carefully. You know there's one case where you'd take an amnestic over a shot to the head. You know.
Agent ██████: You can't be fucking serious right now.
SCP-XXXX-1: I am.
Agent ██████: No you can't. You fucking CAN'T. THAT'S FUCKING IMPOSSIBLE YOU MOTHERFUCKING--
SCP-XXXX-1: ████--
[Supervising personnel is dispatched to the testing chamber, forcibly removing Agent ██████ from the premises. SCP-XXXX-1 watches the disruption, looking pained.]
SCP-XXXX-1: I'm sorry... I'm really sorry.
[All dispatched personnel and Agent ██████ leave the testing chamber. SCP-XXXX-1 looks to the floor and shakes its head before disappearing as SCP-XXXX shuts down.]Agent ██████ was administered a Class A amnestic shortly after testing. Requirements to thoroughly check all Foundation work history of a subject before scanning is noted. SCP-XXXX being able to recite information forgotten via amnestics is critical knowledge that should be considered when conducting all future experiments.
Trial 38 - ██/██/████, ██:██
Subject: [DATA EXPUNGED]
Test Notes: [DATA EXPUNGED] was scanned seemingly without incident. SCP-XXXX-1 hummed for 11s before producing SCP-XXXX-1. [DATA EXPUNGED] and SCP-XXXX-1 proceeded to have a civil discussion about [DATA EXPUNGED] before SCP-XXXX-1 [DATA EXPUNGED]. SCP-XXXX-1 acted as if previously exposed to the cognitohazard [DATA EXPUNGED]. Dr. ████████ managed to call a Code Amber to quarantine the testing chamber before a complete outbreak spread through the site but now currently suffers extreme symptoms of [DATA EXPUNGED]. Test subject was lost.
Subject had no recorded interaction with [DATA EXPUNGED] before testing occured. Investigation into this matter is underway.Addendum ██/██/████
It has been found that while the given test subject never worked with nor interacted near this cognitohazard, she had worked in the site it was being contained at approximately three months before transferring to Site ██. Said cognitohazard is harmless in extremely small doses of information but results in [DATA EXPUNGED] after too much exposure. It is theorized SCP-XXXX-1, likely remembering all miniscule passing comments about the given cognitohazard, had enough knowledge of it to result in [DATA EXPUNGED]. As such, all test subjects must be screened for working even in the vicinity of a cognitohazard or memetic before moving forward with experimentation with SCP-XXXX. Researchers assigned to work with SCP-XXXX are advised to show above average resistance to said hazards.
