{{name}},
Your proposed containment procedures for SCP-3939 are... intriguing, to say the least.
"Intriguing" is a funny word, isn't it? Merriam-Webster defines it as 'engaging the interest to a marked degree'. Here, though, it means that nobody on the containment team believes that it'll work. The current containment procedures are workable enough without you messing around with them -- why should we use your solution instead of ours?
We want you to prove your system. Contain something else using the same method. As we all know, if 3939 containment goes awry, lives are at stake. Contain something safe, prove to us that it works, and then we'll consider it.
Sincerely,
Project Manager Amanda Salisbury
"The fuck? 'Contain something else'? What exactly does she expect us to contain?"
Dr. Annabel Xiulan is reading the email over {{name}}'s shoulder, her breathy exasperation misting next to {{his}} ear. {{name}} raises a hand to swat her away like a mosquito.
"I really have no idea," {{name}} agrees. "Something else? These procedures are designed for a specific anomaly, you can't just... just apply it to any old thing. That's a gross misunderstanding of what containment procedures actually are."
Xiulan nods. "Unless she has another identical SCP-3939 laying around that she wants you to use?"
{{name}} breathes a long sigh and, with a click heavy with resignation, closes the email programme.
{{he|up}} and Dr. Xiulan have a lot of work to do.
