Incident report SCP-5655-I1
22/09/2011, Site-██, Containment Chamber 17
Senior researcher Dr. Richards oversees experiment via camera feed.
<00:00> D-3678 is equipped with a full hazmat suit and a flamethrower, which is connected to a fuel tank put on subject's back under the suit.
<00:43> D-3678 enters sterilization chamber and the door closes behind him. 20% depressurization is commenced.
<03:26> D-3678 enters SCP-XXXX's containment chamber.
<03:37> D-3678 stops at a distance of 1.5m from SCP-XXXX-1, and activates the flamethrower directed at the object.
<03:40> D-3678 releases the trigger. The flames entirely disappear as if aspirated into SCP-XXXX's open center, which shuts itself immediately after.
<03:43> D-3678 appears to be drawn towards SCP-XXXX by an unidentified force and is thrown off balance. Subject reports that the suit's visor is starting to freeze on the inside.
<03:46> Doctor Richards commands that D-3678 leave the Containment Chamber immediately and commence sterilization procedure.
<04:27> After receiving no response from D-3678, Doctor Richards sends D-3679 and D-3784 in full hazmat suit to rescue the subject.
"D-3678 suffered from SCP-XXXX-2's symptoms far faster than usual. His body temperature started to drop only a few seconds after the incident, descending by at least 1°C every two seconds. When the decontamination had finished, D-3678 had severe hypothermia and froze to death after 1 minute.
Autopsy showed severe damage to tissues both external and internal, and the skin was covered in frost almost entirely.
The camera managed to capture a few frames of SCP-XXXX. It wasn't enough to identify the item, but it suggested that the russian dolls aren't the anomaly, but rather what is contained in them is.
Infrared thermography suggests that SCP-XXXX's core temperature has increased during the event.
Following this incident, it is out of discussion to use direct heat to counter the effects of SCP-XXXX.
I am transferring SCP-XXXX to Area-96 in the Siberian tundra. Having less heat for SCP-XXXX to absorb should make it easier to contain it."
