Object Class: Safe
Description: SCP-XXXX is a reality bender. It folds realities unto themselves creating a multidimensional foldplex consistent with Klein's law. Only an estimated 0.07% of the populace are capable of perceiving SCP-XXXX's effects. While these individuals have traditionally been assumed to be infected by a perception-altering memetic agent, recent research suggests that the effect has a basis in physics. Why certain individuals can perceive the multidimensionality is still unclear. If you believe that you are one of these individuals lies lies lies lies

This is a message from the Foundation. If you can read this message, it means you have been trapped inside SCP-XXXX. We are very sorry, but there is nothing we can do for you anymore. This was never supposed to happen. We thought our containment measures were sufficient and your task was merely a routine one, but we were wrong. Your consciousness will soon be absorbed entirely by SCP-XXXX. Dr. Sturm believes there is a chance that a little part of your consciousness may still remain intact. Maybe you can change this thing. Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Explained
Special Containment Procedures: No containment procedures are necessary.
Description: SCP-XXXX was a purported anomaly. Between 8/7/███ and 8/11/███ Junior researcher R████ of the ██████ department repeatedly tried to convince her colleagues that written reports were containing secret messages implanted there by an unknown entity. Consequently Junior researcher R████ became obsessed with recording her own voice and photographing herself and her surroundings. She claimed that the recordings changed on repeated listening. Similarly, she claimed that the photographs taken by her changed when she was not looking at them and that they showed a "shadow" that was following her.
None of the claims could be verified. Closer examination lead to the conclusion that Junior researcher R████ had developed schizophrenia, possibly as a result of drug abuse as a way of coping with work-related stress. She was transferred to ████████ mental health unit.
In case former Junior researcher R████ discloses
confidential Foundation information, it is unlikely that
anyone will believe her, given her current state.
Nevertheless she needs to be monitored closely. In the event
of a possible data breach, she needs to be terminated.
R████ jumped out of an unsecured window at the mental facility she was held in and suffered lethal trauma.
SCP-XXXX is categorized as "Explained". No further action is required.

In the case of such an event, the only chance to regain knowledge of SCP-XXXX would be through the accounts of a person "courted" by it, but given the selectiveness of SCP-XXXX in choosing its victims, this seems unlikely. Furthermore, means of capturing said entity have not been found, yet. Therefore, detailing measures for recapturing SCP-XXXX in the case of a breach is considered futile. All focus should be put on its containment.

Before her admission SOON the patient graduated from ████ University "maxima cum laude". Despite her excellent academical performance, she consequently worked as a cashier. The patient seems very susceptible to work- I WILL COME AND WE WILL BE TOGETHER related stress. She claimed that she took barbiturates and codeine for a period of at least 6 months prior to admission, but that she stopped taking medication at least 3 weeks prior to admission. Psychiatric Evaluation 1 - excerpt
Interviewed: Junior researcher ████ R████
Interviewer: Dr. ████, Foundation psychological assessment department
Date:██/██/████
Comments: This is the last routine psychological examination where R. was considered sane. It occurred roughly one month prior to her developing the first paranoid symptoms. Albeit still functional, in the interview she shows signs of an obsession with a recurring dream of hers.

Interviewer: The same dream as last time?
Junior Researcher R.: Different. The same, but different. Deeper.
How so?
It felt more ... real. I knew I was dreaming. But at the same time I knew I wouldn't come back from the dream. I was so certain of it.
Did that scare you?
Not initially. At first I was ... This is hard to explain. The place was dark. Voices. There were voices everywhere. They were talking.
What did they tell?
I don't know. Some were angry. Sad. Alone. Desperate. They were in pain. They had been left. They had all been left alone. They were ... heart-broken.
And so were you?
So was I.
Did you feel guilty?
Yes, very guilty. Even more than the last time. I had done something terrible. I think ... I think an SCP had escaped. Because of me.
Well. We have the theme of love here. The fear of being left alone. We talked about this the last time, didn't we? And this is ... something new. A work-related theme. In the dream you didn't perform too well at your job.
Yes. I mean, I certainly think about my job a lot. But it wasn't just that. It felt so real ... like ... maybe I really let that thing escape.
I beg your pardon?
Nothing. I mean, it felt incredible real. More so than a normal dream. That's all I wanted to say.
Let's go back to this dream place. Anything else you felt while being there?
See, that's the thing. I'm not sure I can really say "I".
Elaborate, please.
I was there, but I wasn't me. I was ... part of all the voices. I was becoming *it*.
What is *it*?
I don't know. I really don't know. It was trying to console us. Maybe. It had brought us together, to this place. Because we didn't want to be lonely anymore and it knew. But the longer we stayed there the more we stopped being ourselves. We became it. And I started to get terrified at the thought, because I was certain that I wouldn't ever wake up. And then I had this thing where you wake up, but actually you are still dreaming. Is that ... a thing?
A false awakening, yes. Nothing out of the ordinary.
So, I wake up and I am in my apartment. And I get up and I go to my desk and there's a bunch of notes. But whenever I look away, they start changing. I look again and the text is different. And I know that something is talking to me. Through the notes. Are there ... any SCPs that can do that? I mean ...
We are not here to discuss this.
Yes. I'm sorry. Always thinking about my job.
Your job. How well have you been performing lately?
(The interview continues on unrelated subjects.)

Psychiatric Evaluation 2
Interviewed: Junior researcher ████ R████
Interviewer: Dr. ████, Foundation psychological assessment department
Date:██/██/████
[BEGIN LOG]
Interviewer: How do you feel?
Junior Researcher R.: Have you read my report?
Please tell us how you feel at the moment.
Is this a psychiatric evaluation? I'm not crazy, OK? It's all in [incomprehensible] If you read it.
We read your most recent report, yes. That's why we are having this conversation.
Good. You need to SCP this ASAP. It's dangerous.
Don't worry about that. We classified it the moment we read your first report.
You did? [long pause] Well ... so, you believe me?
You see, ████, this first ... [pause] your initial report was truly astounding. All those findings. Background radiation. Thermic analysis. If you read the report, it's clear that this thing *exists*.
It does.
Unfortunately none of the data ... the data you supplied. It's just not in there, you see?
It's what?
You write ... [rustling of paper] 3.4 becquerel ... am I pronouncing that right? You ...
Becquerel.
You write: "3.4 becquerel were measured." But in the appendix this number does not even appear.
[incomprehensible]
When ████ found this mistake, he thought you were cheating. Forging papers.
It's ...
I don't believe that, by the way. I believe you have been under a lot of pressure, lately, haven't you?
The thing.
I beg your pardon?
It's the thing. It. It changed the report. It did it again. [swearing] I should have known. I should have [incomprehensible]
You are saying that this entity changed the report.
This is insane. It knows. It's doing it on purpose. To make me look crazy. You think I'm crazy, don't you?
Do you think you are?
Don't give me that psychotherapy [swearing] Listen, you might think I'm insane. But with all the stuff you have already seen here ... I mean, look around ...
Anomalies do exist, yes. You see, ████, we hold you in very high esteem. You are highly intelligent and were selected for this program.
The way you say it ...
But none of our tests could corroborate your findings. We even risked consulting a captive held at this facility.
You did *what*? Who was it?
That's classified.
SCP-████?
I cannot answer that. As it turns out, nobody except you can see these purported writings.
It changes. You look at a piece of paper and it says something. Then you look again and it says something else. It's messing with your mind. Nothing is the way it seems, you understand? You just didn't look close enough.
Do you have a history of substance abuse, ████?
[long pause] D████ told you. That [swearing]. I knew it. He told you, didn't he?
We have been to your apartment, ████. We found several substances... This is a high-pressure job, I know.
[swearing] Look! [screaming:] Just [swearing] look! You are not looking! That's why you aren't seeing it. Because you are not looking the proper way!
(At this point, the interviewed became violent and had to be restrained. She was later transferred to a mental institution. The case is closed as "explained".)
